Headquartered near Strasbourg (France), Polyplus-transfection® was founded in 2001 as a spin-off from the Genetic Chemistry Laboratory in the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Strasbourg. The company has a global reputation in its niche market following the pioneering role of its main founder, Prof. Jean-Paul Behr, in the development of a polymer-based reagent, PEI (Polyethylenimine), for use in transfection.
